I expected to be knocked over by this hotel since it's the "Grand" Hyatt and more expensive than others. It was a nice place, but I will most likely choose a different hotel next time I'm in DC. I had stayed previously at a different less expensive Hyatt that had an equally convenient location to the sites for DC. I would opt for that one over this in the future. Staff was nice at the Grand, but seemed like everything was an added cost and that aggravated me- including the the gym. Bottom line was that I would not recommend it for the money.

My daughter, sister and I visited D.C. for a few days in August. As soon as we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Grand Hyatt Washington was within walking distance from the bus drop off point. The hotel was beautiful, the staff at the Hyatt was welcoming and the room was just as pictured on the website. After a long day of walking to see the sites in the city, it was great to come back to a comfortable and clean room. The price was terrific and I would highly recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt Washington.

Took my son and his friend to DC for a Capitals hockey game after Christmas '09. This hotel is very close to Verizon Center (easy walking distance), the Metro, dining and other local attractions, so it was perfect for our 2-1/2 days in DC. Hotel lobby is very clean and nice, with a large pool surrounding the lower-level restaurant seating area. Good sports bar downstairs as well. Only complaint is that we did not get the room type requested, and ended up in what appeared to be a very large hospitality suite (no beds). A few roll-aways took care of the problem, but we didn't spend much time in the room, anyhow. Overall, a very good experience, and the boys had a great time.
