Our room was is an older section of the hotel. The room design made it difficult for the A/C to get to the bathroom and as a result the bathroom had a constant humid, musty scent/feel to it. Our room- #158 had no hooks/racks to hang damp towels or suits. The only thing to hang anything on was the shower curtain and the assist bar for the toilet. The room had only one mirror-in the bath over sink. The big table was a waste- a standard dresser with a mirror over it would give more space and storage especially since there is no closet. As I said- the staff was excellant and the facility, for what they had to work with (location and size) was utilized to the max.

When we arrived we only had booked one night, however when we asked about staying for two we were surprised to be given an upgraded room for both nights. The room was small for a Suite, but I imagine much bigger than the standard room. The beds were small, and not the best. The Noise was miserable. We were away from the main drag, but close to the pool and stairs. Noise was early morning, and after midnight. The heating and air was noisy, and the Shower tiles were so black with mildew that I stood on a towel. Their is a nice pool and the breakfast is actually really nice. If they can get the cleaning staff to do a better job, and keep the noise down I would give it 4 stars, but 2 is all I can do. I would recommend for anyone who isn't to concerned about having a bit of noise and willing to sacrifice space and maybe I should have complained about the shower, but I managed, and it was only 2 nights. Plus they upgraded me so I felt like I should suck it up a bit. It's not to far from Duval, and close to town grocery stores and shopping not the tourist stuff. I have always enjoyed staying in Marriotts so I will continue to do so.

The reception area and poolside were lovely, but the room was extremely small. It barely permitted the double beds and there was only a small round table and one chair stuffed between the small lavatory and the bedroom-- not enough room to work and I was traveling on business. No closet. Clothing hund on a rack near the table, like you would find at a Red Roof Inn. We were placed near the one elevator, which "ding-dinged" all night long, and we weren't appreciative when the maid came knocking at 9 AM after we had traveled for several hours the night before and wanted to rest. The room was no better than you might find at Travelodge (no offense to Travelodge!) and certainly not worth almost $* per night. By the way, about half the property is under repair or renovation, which we were not apprised of beforehand. Fortunately they were not noisy. We'll stayelsewhere next time.
