This was a fantastic hotel! I came with my boyfriend in January 2009, and this hotel was more than we could have wished for! The staff were very attentive and courteous, and fixed the minor problems that we had in a timely fashion (we got locked out of our safe and the heater made loud noises when it turned on). The rooms were beautiful and very well taken care of (we had an Executive Queen room). The non-executive floors did not look as well taken care of, but that didn't affect us. They will also hold your bags for you after you check out, if you still want to roam the city. Would stay here again any day of the week! Tip: I had the best Thai food I have ever had at the small Thai restaurant down the street. I can't remember the name but it's about a block away on 48th street. DO NOT try Brazil Grill. We ordered two side items, a salad, and a small appetizer, and just that cost $50! Go ahead and pay the extra few bucks and eat at the Brazilian restaurant in the hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in New York City. The Belvedere Hotel was convenient for everything we wanted to do. For the destinations that were not close, the subway was! Our bed was comfortable, our room was quiet, and there was plenty of hot water! Check in and check out was a breeze. If I get to NYC again, I plan on staying at the Belvedere. I will recommend it to friends. Rich & Loretta in Idaho

We needed to find an inexpensive room for one night during Holiday season. I did my research and selected the Belvedere. Location was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Only one elevator working when we checked in and many people in lobby waiting for over an hour (they reported) to get down from their rooms to check out and only to wait longer still for the bellmen to bring their luggage down. We took the service elevator for the 24 hours we were there. Smelled like garbage but at least our wait time was extremely short. But let's talk about the room: it was clean, tidy. One bed broken on one side. But the HEAT. You could literally see heat waves rising over the radiators. And here is the worst part: YOU HAD NO CONTROL OPTIONS. So, in the middle of December on a cold and windy day, we had to run the air condition on FULL blast -- and even that didn't make the room comfortable. It had to be over 90 degrees in the room and it made sleep impossible. For that reason alone, I would not recommend this hotel. I hated every second spent in that room.
