I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Mainly probably by its exceptional staff and service! I only checked in around midnight, but the front desk staff was still very chirpy, friendly and extremely helpful! I thought it was great that check out was only at noon, gave me time to sleep on a little before embarking on the rest of my journey. The breakfast was nice and warm, with a nice enough variety of things. Upon check out I had a couple of questions and the front desk staff cracked little jokes and were again very friendly and helpful. As I was waiting for the shuttle, one of them came over with printed out documents and recommendations and explanations regarding my questions. I thought that was exceptional client care!! The hotel was a little noisy-but it is right by the airport so what do you expect. I was extremely happy and this really made for a good start to the rest of my trip! Thank you!

This hotel seems a bit run down and is actually near a sanitation depot (lots of city garbage trucks) but besides a wet/ mildew smell in the rooms was pretty clean. The free breakfast was very nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable. However, I will NEVER be back to this hotel and the quality of service I received from the hotel reception staff (in particular a girl named Savi) was the WORST I have ever received in my life, and I am a pretty frequent international traveler. Check-in at this hotel starts at 3 pm, and I and another traveler arrived at 2:45 pm. After checking in one guest before my party she asked us to wait 5 minutes in the lobby, which we did. She preceded to chat with other hotel workers (not regarding hotel business) for 15 minutes, after which she checked in other guests who arrived after us. When I finally reached the front desk (after standing in line again) she checked us in without explaining the unnecessary wait (especially since she let other guests check in early without waiting... therefore I assume it wasn't a matter of getting our particular room cleaned before we could check in... it was 2:45 pm for chrissake!) and while she looked sheepish after realizing that she had checked in a bunch of others and could probably tell that I was pretty mad, she did not apologize for the extended wait. Overall very rude, unprofessional and very unhelpful. This experience has made me seriously question the extra money I paid for the Best Western name.

I do not consider any hotel in the New York City a good value compared to other places in the US, however this location and a good breakfast offering make it rate OK with me. We have stayed here 4 times in the last 3 years, that shoul tell tou something.

The ONLY good thing about this place was the wonderful girl at the reception. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to help me out with an issue. The place was however way below my expectations...very mediocre, in the middle of no where, the shuttle to JFK took ages, there is NO restaurant, we had to order out to horrible restaurants for dinner, there is no bar either...very disappointing:( I also left a request for a wake up call that never came!!!!! I actually did not stay there on my return journey even though I had booked it and paid for it because i could not bear the thought of staying there again!!!
