Some of the staff were polite while others just didn't care. The internet ad is close to false advertisement because there are SO many things that are "seasonal". It was 80 degrees the whole week we were there (FEB)-quite seasonal, yet the swim-up bar was non-functional, really very little was. We did not even eat at the hotel once because we knew it would be "barely there" except for the price. We had no microwave at first-we asked and the first one they brought did not work-the second one burned food in 10 seconds-we asked again the next day and they were having a board meeting to decide if we would get one. We did get one but were labeled troublemakers I am sure. Water problems were prevalent. Pool towels are managed quite carefully by some, not at all by others. Food options at the hotel were very limited. The heated part of the pool was very small. The best thing was the hot tub-very nice. View was wonderful-guess that is what we paid for. Also, our last night was very weird. 11pm and 6am the next morning were surprised with "emergency alarm requiring us to clear out. Also there were 3 in our room. There was a one-cup coffee maker with 2 cups, then 1 cup and whatever. Linens didn't add up either. Most people like coffee and this just wasn't adequate.

Beverage manager of the bar/restaurant ...gave the ultimate worse customer service ever.... He Lacks management skills and enjoys belittling customers... You have to drink "expensive" beverages in order for you to get complimentary snacks... Otherwise he will quickly point out that the beer is $2.50 .. He said.. And I quote" your not going to find these cheap prices anywhere else"... Unreal.. Considering I spent a large amount on dinner and wine the night before....not to mention other nights that we have stayed there...

The staff of this hotel made it a pleasurable stay in South Padre Island. The hotel has high curb appeal but upon entering the elevators and our room we could tell that it has been outdated as things appear to requiring some maintenance. Our room started to leak on the second day of our trip, but the hotel employees were quick and helpful in switching us to a new room. The food from their restaurant was delicious and the room was located on the 10th floor which made for a great view of the beach.
